The municipality helps pay
To further stimulate the development of children, we work at a number of locations with a recognized Preschool Education Program (VE). This is subsidized by the municipality. Preschool is a great opportunity for many children. Because here they are prepared for the transition to primary school.
In the municipality of The Hague, this care is even free in many cases.
Compensation The Hague
From January 1, 2024, toddlers between 2,5 and 4 years old can free to Preschool Education (VE) in The Hague for a maximum of 16 hours per week. For this, their parents/guardians need a referral from the CJG (Youth & Family Center). This is called a preschool indication or VE indication. Children born from 01-01-2021 in the Zuidwest and Laak districts of The Hague automatically receive a VE indication. Do you want to use this indication? Then visit the CJG and give permission for your data to be shared.
This facility is only for children with a VE indication who are placed in a VE group in toddler care or daycare. It therefore makes no sense to approach or contact other types of locations without a referral from the CJG.
Children can go to preschool when they are 2,5 years old. You can of course register your child earlier.

Westland allowance
Parents who are not entitled to childcare allowance receive a VE contribution through the municipality. The municipality pays for 8 hours of care. You pay an income-related contribution for the remaining hours. Here too, this facility is only intended for children with a VE indication who are placed in a VE group in toddler care or daycare. Do you want to use this? Then obtain a referral from the JGZ and complete the application form below.
Children can go to preschool when they are 2 years old. You can of course register your child earlier.
