22 January 2019

Minister Van Engelshoven to read

Wednesday 23rd of January marks the start of the ‘National Reading to Children Days’ (Nationale Voorleesdagen). On this morning, a special guest will be present at the national Museum of Children’s Books. She’ll read from picture book of the year ‘Een huis voor Harry’ (A House for Harry), by Leo Timmers. Her audience will consist of Kinderopvang 2Samen’s toddlers.

The Museum of Children’s Books and Kinderopvang 2Samen have organised a reading breakfast for the past few years. Together, we would like to draw attention to the importance of reading to children, in order to stimulate their (linguistic) development. Every year, famous Dutch people are invited to read to the children. Previously, celebrities such as Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien, Erik van Muiswinkel, Spike from the band DI-RECT and Bart Chabot read at the museum.
