About Road2School Kootwijkstraat daycare center
At both of our Road2School locations in The Hague, every child is welcome. Children with and without special needs play together here, learning from and with each other. We stimulate development at your child's level and pace, with challenging activities and materials. Groups are small, with—in most cases—three childcare professionals. Daycare is available half-days from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM or from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This makes it a regular daycare center, but with a difference.
You will find an authentic daycare center on Kootwijkstraat in Rustenburg and Oostbroek . There is a group for babies and toddlers aged 0 to 4 and a preschool group for children aged 2 to 5. We offer Pre-school Education (VE) to the preschoolers.
This daycare center was formerly a monastery. You can still recognize this by the entrance, the beautiful tiles, and the ambiance. It has now been adapted to meet the needs and requirements of childcare. Each group has its own indoor area. Here, your child can explore the fun play areas or move freely.
For babies and toddlers, there are restrooms in the group and two sleeping areas divided by age. There's a play area between the toddler and after-school care groups. Here you'll find the toddlers' small sleeping area. We're helping them become more independent in preparation for primary school. They can change in their own space and use the restroom outside the group. Our outdoor area is nice and spacious. There's a play area for young babies, separated from the toddlers and preschoolers, so every child can find a spot to play and run around with friends.

At your own level and pace
The groups are small. Your baby or toddler is in a group of a maximum of 11 children , and your preschooler in a group of a maximum of 12 children . In most cases, there are three childcare workers in each group. We encourage your child's development at the level and pace that suits him or her. We also challenge your child to discover and learn new skills.
We use black and white pictograms to explain the daily structure to your child. We also use supporting gestures and images. Even if your child doesn't yet have a good command of Dutch, this allows us to still talk to each other and understand each other.

Large outdoor play area
We have a large outdoor play area! The youngest babies have their own space, so it's private and safe. Toddlers and preschoolers have their own space to socialize and make friends. When the toddlers aren't playing outside, the after-school care staff can run around to their hearts' content. A few minutes away, there's also a large grassy area with fun play equipment.
Development is paramount
At Road2School, your child's development is our top priority. From babies' first words and steps to toddlers' endless questions, we cherish every stage of development. And we ensure that, after their time with us, they'll confidently transition to primary school, always at their appropriate level and pace.
Nice exercise
We're dedicated to children's motor skills. That's why we encourage plenty of exercise and go outside whenever possible. Once a week, we challenge the children with toddler and preschool gym. This way, your child gradually expands their boundaries and learns new things in a playful way. Gym time takes place in our building, with an after-school care group.
